A Christmas Memory
This was a moment these men will remember forever.  We invited guests from outside to hang ornaments.

Keith (the man in the light blue sweatshirt) said while he was hanging ornaments, "Wow. This is the first time in many years that I have gotten to put ornaments on a Christmas tree. I have missed this."

In one of the pictures you can see Denise (our community coordinator) encouraging John. John was struggling with Christmas activities because he has not been able to celebrate in 7 years. Yesterday was the first time in 7 years John celebrated Christmas. He came to us afterwards and said, "Thank you for pushing me to do this. I felt accepted today."

This tree is more than just a Christmas tree. This tree symbolizes our guests coming together for a purpose: recreating unity. They're moving away from the idea that they are alone to the belief that they are a team.

Community Christmas Fest
We had our Community Christmas Fest this weekend and it was a hit! There were about 100 people here. The parents loved getting free clothes and the kids loved getting Christmas stockings. It was a great time to bring the community together.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, prayer warrior, staff member and community member who spread the word, and thank you to our visitors for making our first Christmas Fest a success!

We are grateful for your help in making Good News at Noon a place for not only homeless people, but a place for the whole community to gather.

We are a place where all people can come gather, be equal, and be one community together.

"Tap" to Find a Day To Serve
"For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

Titus 3:3-7

Director's Thoughts

It is part of our new cultural norm to immediately put Thanksgiving behind us in favor of a total focus on Christmas, but my soul is not wired that way. I like to soak in “thankfulness” (or being grateful, which is rooted in grace) as long as possible. Lingering long in being grace-filled then helps lead me into the proper Christmas soul-posture of wonder and joy. As my heart transitions this year, I can’t help but express my thankfulness, wonder and joy for the army of volunteers and donors God uses to serve our community at Good News at Noon. May God bless each and every one of you this Christmas and throughout the new year!

A "Mister Rogers" Moment
We have an "open door" policy here. We welcome guests, staff, and volunteers to come into our office. You can come chat, share what's on your mind, ask for help, or relax for a few minutes with us.

Neal and Marc were telling stories and sharing a laugh with one another.
 One More Thought
While the guests were putting Christmas ornaments onto the tree, we began to run low on ornaments. At the end, we had four men putting ornaments onto the tree, and we  had four ornaments left. God knew those four men needed those ornaments. He knew they needed joy, love, the feeling of family, and cheer. Their spirits were lifted by Him.
Merry Christmas From Our Family to Yours. Have a Blessed New Year.
